As technology rapidly advances to new forms of electronic communication, there are bound to be those that take the advancements for granted and misuse the technology. For this reason, the United States judicial system is hard at work trying to keep up with the changing landscape of technology crimes. Crimes can range from simple spyware viruses and identity theft schemes, to corporate negligence and sexual harassment charges. Businesses are at risk more than ever of being caught in legal disputes over inappropriate or even criminal technology usage on or off the job. With an array of communication mediums to monitor, including social media websites, instant messaging, e-mail, etc.; it is now of the upmost importance to pay special attention to protecting your business from possible judiciary action.
The corporate events market has seen its fair share of ups and downs over the past few years, with many corporate planners witnessing a budget boom and increase in event numbers in 2007, followed by a drastic move in the opposite direction in 2008. This shift caught the world wide hospitality industry in a bind, no one feeling the burn more than industry suppliers. As the economy slowly turns back north, industry operations are beginning to do so as well. Special Events Magazines annual Events at Work: Corporate Event Marketplace Study was recently released, showing results of a worldwide event professional survey discussing predictions on the upcoming year’s events outlook. Results of the study showed positive movement in all categories including budget, number of events and return on investment efforts.

Aaron Snyder - Evening Operations Manager
What do your overall duties consist of here at Quest?
First and foremost, I make sure that our clients are well cared for in
the afternoons. The majority of my duties consist of keeping the
building in tip top shape and running smoothly. With the assistance of
my set-up staff, we handle of all room and equipment sets for each
meeting overnight so when the client arrives in the morning everything
is ready to go.
What part do you play in the customer experience?
I am the behind the scenes kind of guy. I am like the kid in the school
play working the stage lights; I take care of the things that are mostly
out of the public eye. My role in the customer experience is
concentrating on keeping the facility and meeting space in the best
possible condition for our clients.
The discussion of alternative sources of 'green' energy has been an avidly disputed issue for decades. Scientists, Politicians and Energy Companies around the world have varied opinions on the answer to solve the environmental turmoil that our current technology has placed on our planet. Although alternative forms of energy will take some time to implement into our daily lives, people around the world have realized that we can not wait on changing our “destructible” living habits. Organizations such as the U.S Green Building Council have made substantial efforts to also inform companies on various ways to incorporate green incentives into their business models. Many hospitality industry facilities have embraced the environmentally friendly mind set and have made steps to decrease their carbon foot print one energy saving light bulb at a time.
