For the past 13 years the Ohio Chapter of Meeting Professionals International has been holding their successful CMP Study group at Quest Conference Center. We are proud to be a part of such a wonderful program that helps meeting planners and professionals prepare for the Certified Meeting Professional certification through the Convention Industry Council. Quest has even been a test site in the past! MPI is proud of its 90% pass rate for its attendees, as it really does a great job at keeping the program up to date and interesting for attendees!
Each study group session features a different speaker on each topic that will be covered on the exam. Each speaker is a certified CMP and has ample experience in their field. The most important aspect of these study groups is you are able to work together with individuals who are going through the same thing as you are. You are able to bounce off ideas and study tools that have worked, and overall have a support group of people that can help you through the process.
The study group will begin on May 7th and will run 8 consecutive weeks ending in June 25th. The session concludes with a Boot Camp program on Saturday July 13th to really get you ready to go for the test. If you are not able to make it to Quest ever y week, you are in luck, the study group is webcasted! This way you are able to see the presenters and collaborate with the other individuals in the room in real time.
Quest is happy to have staff member Danielle Shiltz as the Director of Professional Development on the Board of MPI Ohio, so please feel free to contact her at your convenience with any questions on the program. Check out this link for more information and to register!

Columbus in the spring time is a
sight to be seen both for visitors and locals alike. The city and surroundings
areas have so much to offer for those looking for entertainment, relaxation, or
family fun! A huge perk of Columbus is the vast amount of parks and gardens
located in the city. This allows for ample opportunity to get out in the sun
and enjoy the nice spring weather!
High Banks Park (Powell): This outstanding park full of over 11 miles of
hiking trails is located less than 10 minutes from Quest on SR 23, just off
Polaris Parkway (SR 750). This is a great place for an afternoon walk in
between breakout sessions! The park sets right up against the 100 foot bluffs
of the Olentangy River, which allows ample room for fishing, canoeing and
beautiful scenery.

How has your experience been in joining the team here at Quest?
It has been a great experience to join with people who work very hard to give our customers the best treatment possible while they are here at our facility.

What has your past experience consisted of professionally?
My experience is pretty varied actually. I have had the opportunity to do many things that I have enjoyed. My career path is Ministry, but I have been able to do other things to help me afford my ministry “habit”.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Six and a half months ago my wife and I had our first child. We are currently in the process of getting our home ready to host a daycare center that my wife will run. But movies are our main escape, but I do enjoy reading and I dabble in music. I also like to try and get things to grow in my flowerbeds, although it doesn’t seem to happen as much as I would like.
What skills do you think you bring to the team?
I think that I bring solid customer service skills that will help to make sure that people are well cared for while they are here.
