Our most recent featured artists each bring something different to the table with their work, which makes for a wonderful collaboration that really brightens up the east wing art gallery. Subject matter ranges from beautiful rural landscape views, to illuminated versions of the front entrance of Ohio Stadium. This time around, there certainly is something for everyone.
Kevin Buckland has owned and operated Buckland Gillespie Design in Columbus for over 20 years. Although he loves working with his corporate clients, Kevin enjoys painting everyday. His most common inspiration for his work comes from rural Ohio landscapes. Occasionally Kevin ventures outdoors to do his work, but usually finds himself in his home studio. Kevin has experimented with a number of different paints, but has found his niche with watercolor. Kevin refers to his paintings as “Images in watercolor that achieve realistic sharp detail.” Kevin is a past president of the Westerville Art League, a member of the central Ohio water color society, and the Worthington Art League.

David B. Reed is another of our featured artists this month, and has this to say about his work: “Some of my earliest memories are of making pictures. I want to make visible my encounters with nature. This is the same impulse that drives most realist painters and each paining is a kind of experiment with looking and recreating. Some works are quick, loose, stylized or blunt. Other works are large, challenging and labor intensive. All of them are an attempt at recording or “keeping” the experience of being in nature, and it is always part of the process in the pursuit of excellence.”
The next time you are here at Quest be sure to stop by our east wing art gallery to check out their work.
